Bill M. Rose God began working in my life for me to surrender and be open to the call of missions when I was only 11 years old. David McDonald shared the great need in Spain as he was presenting his work during his deputation ministry in 1981. God opened my eyes to the great need and even then I was considering missions. God furthered my surrender to missions while I was on a short-term mission trip to Mexico while preparing for ministry at Arlington Baptist College. It was then that I told the Lord I was willing to be used on the foreign mission field. Interestingly enough, although we were not yet even dating, and she was in Louisiana, my wife surrendered to missions that same week. In 1993 I returned to my hometown of Three Rivers as youth pastor at Temple Baptist Church. I knew that my mission field began in “Jerusalem,” and so I was prepared and excited to reach people in my hometown for Christ. As I was being obedient to my current call, I was ever sensitive in giving to foreign missions and every year at mission conference I confirmed my willingness to be used of God on foreign soil. In March of 2001, God took us up on our willingness and called us to the uttermost parts of the world. Through different circumstances of the Holy Spirit’s leading, He has pointed us to the people of Spain. |
