Season’s Greetings from Southern Spain! The last two months seem to have flown by, and we have a lot to share. . .At “Iglesia Bautista Fe”, we have been averaging over 40. Here are some of the highlights:
-Eva, a lady from France, has been attending regularly for the last two months and is asking many questions about salvation. Even though she has not yet been saved it is a blessing to see that God is working in her life.
-The children presented a Christmas play on December 10. We had 6 adult leaders working together, and 16 children participated. It was such a success that we have decided to present it again on December 24 to give the people another opportunity to bring visitors. The gospel message is clearly presented; we are praying that hearts will be touched.
-We have enjoyed working together with Jonathan, one of the deacons, and seeing God speak through his messages on Sundays. Please pray for his wife, Nancy, for salvation.
-Also this Christmas season, the adult choir has presented special music, and we had a Christmas banquet with 46 in attendance.

In the African church there was an intense conflict that was so severe that it threatened to divide the church. After much prayer, some fasting, and Bill spending many hours in Bible study and counseling with the deacons and the 2 men involved, God broke through the boundaries of stubbornness and unrepentant hearts. In the past weeks after following the principles of Matthew 18, we have seen both men apologize before the church and also to each other. It was a blessing, not only to us, but also to the whole church to see the Holy Spirit work in the lives of these men. What seemed to be a situation leading to church discipline was turned around through repentance and forgiveness. We realize that Satan could get a foothold again, and we ask you to please pray for the First Baptist Church of Roquetas.

Outreach. . .
-We estimate that we handed out over 100 tracts to our neighbors on Halloween night.
-We had a God-given opportunity to act the parts of Mary and Joseph for a Christmas program in Kelsey and Jordan’s school. We had contact with hundeds of people, and showed a good testimony of our belief in the Bible. We were well received by the adults and children, and hope that God will give us opportunities to share the gospel in the future.
-We have an activity planned to put together and give out fruit baskets to unsaved elderly who have visited the church.

Family news and prayer requests. . .
-We are expecting a new baby in June, and were pleasantly surprised by our children’s positive reactions when we “broke the news.” Kelsey said she has been praying for a baby sister for over a year now, and Joshua summed it up when he said, “Oh good, more family! I love our family!”
-Driver’s license. . .both driving and written tests must be completed by February 28.
-Pastor Mike Rose. . .continued chemotherapy treatments.
-Residential visas. . .appointments for renewal.
-Children’s schooling. . .for their faith and testimony, that they will make friends, and understand Spanish!
-Exchange rate. . .All of your missionaries in Europe would appreciate you praying for the exchange rate to go down. We are currently losing over 30% of every dollar we change, which has been difficult.

One final note. . .we are tentatively scheduling a furlough from December 2007-April 2008. If you would like to have our family in your church for specific dates, please contact us at rosestospain@yahoo.com.

We can’t even begin to express how much you all mean to us. Your faithful prayer and support of our family are what keeps us here, serving God in Almería. We love you all and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with God’s blessings!
