Dear faithful friends and supporters,
Wrong number? I don’t think so! God used us in the midst of trailer trouble.
While we were broken down in Louisville, KY we received a phone call from a 16
year Catholic boy named Josh. After the second time he called Dena, he realized
that a girl had given him the wrong number when he asked for her phone number.
Frustrated, he said, “I hate it when girls do that to me!” Dena could see he was
in need of a friend. She began sharing how God saved her at the same age- 16. It
was then that I came out of the mechanic’s shop. She gave the phone over to me
saying, “Josh is ready to accept Christ.” I spent half an hour sharing scripture
verses and making sure he understood. After he understood that knowing about
Jesus wasn’t enough- he had to believe in Jesus and trust him only, he was ready
to pray. He prayed the sweetest prayer and accepted Christ that day. Praise the
Lord. Dena and I were glad that even in the midst of our own crisis, God used us
for his eternal purpose.
Roofing: getting closer to heaven. While we were home for a short stay our home
church had a four day roofing project, and re-roofed the whole church building.
One local business owner was burdened to help us, so he sent two of his own
employees to assist us. While eating lunch I was able to talk with one of these
men. I was amazed how hungry he was for the truth. He tuned out all the other
men next to us and listened as I spent time explaining God’s plan for salvation
from Genesis to the Gospel. He then bowed his head right there to receive Christ
as Savior! Many men in the church said that Cory’s salvation was the highlight
of our roofing project.
Support and paperwork. . .We praise the God that we are over 90% of our needed
support with another 5% promised. Please pray with us that either the churches
we have already visited or our scheduled churches will be able to join our
support team to bring us to the level that we need before we depart for Spain in
September. The paperwork that we had translated for the Spanish government is
in. We are going to the Spanish Consulate this week to apply for our residence
visas. There is a two to four month waiting time for us to receive our visas.
Please pray for God’s timing for our paperwork.
Cds and tapes. . .We have recorded our children singing and are distributing
these tapes and cds on a donation basis. There will be a request form on our
website. Any donations given are tax deductible and will go to our
transportation fund. The goal of our recording was to glorify God. Our purpose
was to be a blessing to those who receive it and also be another way to remind
them to pray for us.
We want to thank each individual and church that has partnered with us. It is
exciting to report to you the salvations and our progress in preparing to depart
for Spain. Thank you for your prayers and support.
Striving together,
Bill & Dena Rose with Brianna, Kelsey, Jordan, Joshua, and Josiah
